Under The Glass Ceiling

       I grew up as a homeschooler when being homeschooled was decidedly "uncool". As an elder millenial (apparently?) my homeschool journey began around 1989, and as you can see, we were the outliers. And, yes if you're wondering, my parents were religious, though not in the traditional sense. We were the outliers there as well. In fact, in terms of fitting in, I never did (anywhere). The church kids were too cult-ish and the public school kids were too bizarre. Welcome to homeschool in the 90's! Thankfully, the availability of resources and curricula today is much more diverse and readily available. The stigma around homeschooling seems to be diminishing as well. Growing up, my mother was questioned relentlessly  about why we weren't in school and just what in the world she was doing with us in the grocery store at 10am on a Wednesday. The audacity! She handled it well though, and always told them we were in economics class. Thankfully, I never get those ques...

    I could not think of a more perfect post to start off the blog with, so here it is. This subject has been a heated topic of debate for me since around 2016, when I first discovered the Flat Earth movement that was surging at that time. For me, the revelation was the catalyst that propelled me from looking at the Bible as a set of excellent guidelines to live by, to being the inerrant Word of God full of complete Truth. The rest of that story is a story for another blog post, though! This post is to establish the most essential part of my faith as a follower of Jesus Christ, which is to establish  who  I am putting my faith in. If we don't know  who  this character is, Jesus Christ, then it matters not if we profess to have faith in him and it matters not what we call him.
